i recommend this...
Yesterday I got a haircut. And, do you know what the best part about it was? Not the fact that my hair looks sooo good which it does, see the pic above. The best part about it was the extra 20 minutes of unexpected solo time I was gifted because Marie ( the amazing woman who cuts my hair) was running late.
The salon was nice enough to call me way in advance. I won't bore you with the details of my morning, but I was already there and parked when they called me. So, when I was done with my zoom call ( the reason I was there so early), I got out of the car, walked to a coffee shop, and treated myself to a cup of coffee.
Sipping a coffee someone else makes for you while walking down the street, in a neighborhood you rarely frequent, feels super luxurious these days, and really can Un F* your day.
I realized YOU can start to feel Un F*d in as little as 15-20 minutes a week if you start scheduling unexpected solo time. I know, if it's something you're scheduling weekly, it's not unexpected...and you can make it unexpected in some way...
Explore a different neighborhood.
Walk a different way.
Lock yourself in the bathroom and cry ( well that's probably expected, but cry harder or louder!)
Go outside.
Pump up the volume and dance.
Go sit in your car.
And, speaking of solo time, have you ever been curious about living a more sustainable, remote life with a lot of space around you, off the grid? If you have, then the latest episode of Talking Smack 415, Living off the Grid, is for you. Jamie the Great and I talk smack with Johanna DeBiase, an eco-feminist artist and writer blogging about life off-grid in the high desert of Taos, New Mexico. We talk smack about what it means to be a Jew-Witch-Yogi, a term that Johanna coined. Plus we discuss magic, animal totems, and the jaw-dropping real estate prices on the nutty Taos Mesa. Johanna shares what it’s like to live off the grid which naturally includes some potty talk. And, she schools us on eco-feminism.
As much as we want to stay on topic you know it's not really our thing so, enjoy the magic we weave for you in this episode.
